Have you ever gone hunting for the perfect planner, day timer, or journal? If you’re anything like me, you have a particular format that suits you and your working style best. And truth be told, if you can’t find the exact organiser you’ll spend your entire year shaking your head each time you try to enter information into it.
Well, I solved that problem a few years back when I began printing my own. Don’t get me wrong, I love the look of a beautiful tan leather planner, but if it isn’t functional for me and my personal processes, then it won’t make the cut for an entire year!
I prefer a “month-at-a-glance” style planner with enough space to write clearly in it. So I decided to create a new blank calendar in MS Outlook and printed out the entire year. There is so much flexibility in the layout when designing your own, that I won’t be too quick to run back to my expensive, inefficient alternative.
Since I only use this particular calendar at the office, I put it in a cute pink folder or binder (and even decorated it with some funky stickers that scream my name). It makes me smile every time I pull it out and it gives me only the information I need at the time. No unnecessary “to do list” sections wasting my valuable real estate.
And if you want to go all out, you can design one at your local copy centre or online store–that way you can have it beautifully customised, bound and then delivered straight to your door.
